Ok, its been a long long time since I used Visage but I imagine that the
MODE argument is looking for the (?)hex id more, not the name shown in the
screenmode prefs program.
Search Aminet for a program called GetHexModeID and download it (there is
also once called getmodeid, which gives a different output iirc). Run the
program and it will ask you to select a screenmode. Do this and then the
program will open a CLI up with the hex equivelent mode. For example, this
is for a 800x600x16bit mode:
This is GetHexModeID from Dirk Sessler.
Mode ID is 0x50011102 = 1342247170.
So, in therory you would use:
visage MODE=1342247170 SCALE CENTER
to get it to display on the aformentioned screenmode.

Cant help you there - have you tried Mysticview instead. I have been using
it for a year or so now and it does all I require.
